The Government of Saudi Arabian says this year’s Hajj will take place next month  with very limited number of pilgrims expected to participate in the spiritual exercise.

The Kingdom’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that the decision was taken due to the ongoing threat from the coronavirus pandemic and the need to preserve global public health.

The Ministry further said participating pilgrims would be from various nationalities residing in Saudi Arabia.

Officials of the Ministry noted that this year’s Hajj would be performed in a safe manner from a public health perspective while observing all preventative measures and the necessary social distancing protocols.
