The Nigerian Defence Academy says its security architecture was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka.

According to a statement by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Muhammed Jajira, the incident led to the loss of two personnel, and one other was abducted.

The statement explained that the Academy in collaboration with the One Division of the Nigerian Army, Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state have since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the area with a view to tracking them and rescuing the abducted personnel.

While stressing that NDA community and cadets are safe, the statement assured the public that the unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued.
