The North Central Youth Lobbying Committee on increase youth participation in politics has requested for 60 percent leadership stake on various elective positions in the All Progressives Congress APC ward congresses and other subsequent elections.

Member of the committee and Niger state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Mr Emmanuel Umar made the request when he led members on a visit to state Chairman of the APC in Minna.

Mr Emmanuel Umar maintained that young people should be given the opportunity to contest for offices including that of youth office as well as Chairnanship and Governorship position.

He however commended Niger state Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello for creating an enabling environment for youths to be actively involved in his government, stressing that about sixty percent of appointments in his cabinet were agile youths.

This, according to him has given them ample opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the state and applauded Caretaker Committee Chairman of APC Mai Mala Buni for supporting youths participation in politics .

Also speaking, Niger state Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria Comrade Bello Barau Sheriff described the move as a welcomed development and should be supported by all meaning Nigerian.

He said they would mobilise credible youths to partake in politics while cautioning them against using social media to make negative comments.

In a remark, the Niger state Chairman of the APC Alh Saudi Aliyu Kalgoko represented by Secretary of the party Abdullahi Aliyu said they were in full support of such move and would convey their message to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
