A High Court presided over by Justice Gideon Kurada has discharged the Leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat from the criminal allegations leveled against them by the Kaduna State Government.

Delivering his ruling on the no case submission filed by the Defense, Justice Kurada said the Prosecution failed to prove its case against the accused persons.

Sheik Ibrahim El Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat have been on trial on allegations of unlawful assembly, culpable homicide and disruption of public peace among others for over four years.

This followed the deadly clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and the Nigerian Army in Zaria in 2015.
