Following a circular from Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, putting six States and FCT  on red alert as part of preventive measures against a  third wave of  COVID-19, the Jigawa State Government has suspended all Durbar activities in all the five Emirate Councils in the State for safe Eid celebration in the State.

This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini and made available to newsmen in Dutse.

Similarly, the Government has directed for the decentralization of Eid Prayer to neighborhood Friday Prayer Mosques and observation of limitations on all indoors gathering.

Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini said the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 under the leadership of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha advised all States of the Federation to heighten their  state of preparedness and continue to enforce all protocols put in place, given the renowned greater ease of spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

The statement further felicitated with the  Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el- Kabir celebration and urged the general public and Religious Leaders in the State to be mindful of the potential for wider spread of  the Virus during large gatherings.
