The Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA), has donated relief materials to Kebbi State government for onward distribution to flood and boat mishap victims in the state.

The relief materials include tricycles, sewing machines, water pumping machines and grinding machines among others.

Speaking while handing over the relief materials to the state government in Birnin Kebbi, Deputy Director, Port Harcourt office of the agency, Mr. Murad Carpenter, said the responsibility for catering for the victims of natural disaster should not be left only for the government hence, the decision by NIMASA to intervene to succour to the victims.

“NIMASA is handing over relief materials to kebbi State government that comprised of two tricycles, four motorcycles, 12 sewing machines, 12 grinding machines, 12 vulcanizing machines, four water pumping machines and 50 sets of barbing clippers”

He said, the items was meant to be distributed to the victims of flood and boat mishap as well as other natural calamities in the state.

According to Mr. Murad Carpenter, the gesture is part of the coperate social responsibility of NIMASA.

The Secretary to the Government of Kebbi State, Alhaji Babale Umar, who received the donation on behalf of the state government, commended NIMASA for the donation and assured that the items would reach the right people it was meant for.
