The Central Bank of Nigeria will partner with tertiary institutions to foster a culture of enterprenuerial development among the youths by supporting them with start up capital upon graduation.
Governor of the bank Mr. Godwin Emefiele stated this during the opening of the 35th annual conference of the Association of Vice chancellor’s of Nigerian Universities held at Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil, Kano.
The CBN Governor who was represented by the Deputy Director Finance and Development, Dr. Adebowale Olabimtan Idowu disclosed that the apex bank is developing a tertiary institution scheme to re- orientate, train and finance enterprenuership ideas among graduates.
“The proposed partnership will provide a platform for building digital skills that are relevant to Nigeria’s broader development goals”
Earlier in his remarks, Vice Chancellor of Kano State University of Science and Technology Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa said the institution has recorded tremendous achievements as it has received full accredition status in all courses from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
According to him, the Chancellor of the University, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has sponsored the recruitment of fifteen Professors for the institution as well as a blue print to cover over one million farmers on rice, sugarcane, tomatoes, palm oil and fish production.

While declaring the conference opened Kano state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said his administration will remain committed to the overall development of the educational sector.
Dr Ganduje who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Usman Alhaji said the administration will work out a suitable framework at tertiary levels for the survival of educational institutions.
