Federal Road Safety Corps,(FRSC), Kwara state sector Command has urged motorists to shun alcoholism while driving during and after the forth coming Eid-eil-Kabir celebrations.

The state Sector Commander of FRSC ,Mr Jonathan Owoade made the call while speaking with Journalists in Ilorin.

He advised motorists to avoid overloading during the period with the intention to make more money.

According to him, avoidable road crashes have resulted to the death of large number of passengers in the state and the country in general.

Mr Owoade explained that the sector command has put in place adequate provision to ensure road crashes are reduced to the minimum during and after the Sallah celebrations.

He noted that modern equipment have been made available for the FRSC personnels at strategic locations in the state to test for alcoholism and excessive speed by motorists.

The Sector Commander appealed to motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before setting out on a journey to avoid unexpected breakdown of vehicles.

He also urged passengers to avoid the habit of pressuring drivers to go on excessive speed while on a journey.
