The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has Scheduled Saturday 17th July 2021 to hold a National Environmental Sanitation Day.

This was Contained in a media statement signed by Kano state Coordinator of the National youth Service Corp in Kano Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammad and was Made Available to Radio Nigeria in kani.

The statement explained that the program was necessitated following the just concluded NYSC Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) in which findings arising from the programme indicated that greater percentage of ailments recorded and treated had direct relationship with poor sanitation and Hygiene practices.

It stated that Nigerian government has always relied on the NYSC to take the lead in various fronts, especially in the area of sanitation and mobilization of the communities at the grassroots.

Arising from the foregoing, therefore, the NYSC seeks the collaboration, cooperation and assistance from relevant Environmental Sanitation Agencies, Security Agencies, Community and Religious leaders and indeed the general public for the success of the program.

In kano state, the exercise is scheduled to take place on 17th July 2021 across all the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.
