National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has postponed its 9th Convocation Ceremony slated for Saturday, March 21 in Abuja, due to outbreak of the Corona Virus ravaging countries around the globe.

Registrar of the University, Felix Edoka announced the postponement in Abuja.

Felix Edoka said the Governing Council and Senate of the University jointly took the decision, in view of the health dangers inherent in gathering large number of people at this time.

The Registrar maintained that Nigeria is among several countries battling the dreaded coronavirus which had claimed many lives across Europe and Africa, with millions of people infected.

He regretted the inconvenience caused, adding that about 25, 000 graduating students were expected to participate in the Convocation Ceremony.
