Ahead of the planned defection of Zamfara State Governor ,Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle (Shettiman) Sokoto , the leader of All Progressives Congree (APC) in Zamfara and Former Governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has agreed to accept him into party .

In a chat with newsmen shortly after a consultative meeting with Stakeholders in Kaduna , Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar said Governor Bello Matawalle’s decision to join the party is a welcome idea that will give the party an edge in future elections.

According to him, there is high hope that Matawalle’s defection will further galvanize the party and create a better working relationship amongst party members .

Speaking with the Stakeholders across the 14 local government area of the State during the consutative meeting held at Arewa House on Monday, Yari said the party welcomes Matawalle alongside his supporters.

He however said, the meeting with stakeholders was still holding to see how every member of the party will be treated fairly.

“The stakeholders and party loyalists have accepted the decision and are willing to work with the Governor after the formal defection ceremony.

” We will not take any position without our people’s consent that is why we invited all the stakeholders to make a stand. We will not decide on anything that will not be of benefit to the party as well as the state.

” We agreed that the Governor is coming with authority while we have the population in the state. So we hope and pray that his coming to the part will be beneficial and will add value to the party in the state. So, he is welcome.” Yari stated .
