President Muhammadu Buhari has approved automatic employment of ten (10) direct siblings of the deceased NYSC members who lost their lives during the 2011 post-election violence in Bauchi State.

Minister of Youths and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare stated this during the inauguration of the NYSC board in Abuja.

After the election in 2011, some Corps members died during post election violence.

To pacify the families of the deceased, President Muhammadu Buhari also approved scholarships to the four children of one of the Corps members, Mr. Adowei Elliot.

Mr Dare said Federal Government was satisfied with the achievements of the Management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, which has enhanced the visibility of the Scheme.

He emphasized that the scheme remained a tool for national integration which had fostered national development and unity for the benefit of young people.

Mr. Dare urged the NYSC board members to use the political influence at their disposal to strengthen all levels of engagements aimed at sustaining the legacies of the scheme through continuous engagement with policy makers at various levels.

He also endorsed the proposal made by stakeholders for the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps Trust Fund.

The Chairman of the NYSC board Ambassador Fatima Abubakar, gave an assurance that the board would deliver on its mandate.

Other members of the board are: Mrs. Binta Muazu, Maj. Gen. B O Sawyer,  Architect Muhammad Sani Aliyu, and

 Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, others are Prince Oyekunle Oyewumi, Umar Yusuf Nalado, Mr. Taiwo Adeniyi and the Director General of the NYSC, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim.
