Kebbi State Government has adopted new strategies to end banditry in the state.

The Deputy Governor, Colonel Samaila Yombe Rtd, who made this known in Birnin Kebbi said, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division of the Nigeria Army, was in Zuru emirate to re-strategize in the fight against banditry.

He said recently eighty-eight people were reported to have been killed by Bandits in eight villages of Danko/Wasagu local government area of the state.

According to him, the state government had also restructured the activities of Yan Sakai (volunteers vigilante) to complement the effort of the security agencies.

“The state government did not outlaw the Yan Sakai in the state because they have complied with the new reform carried out in their activities”.

Colonel Samaila Yombe gave assurance that a lot of effort had been put in place to ensure the state was secured especially with recent bandits attacks in the southern part of the state.

The Deputy Governor told newsmen that, the state government was working closely with security agencies to ensure lives and property are secured.
