President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday received the second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 in the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Dr Sanusi Rafindadi administered the vaccine on the President.

The President, alongside the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), had in March, publicly received the first shot, to counter vaccine hesitancy and to show that it was safe, contrary to misinformation going round on social media.

3.92 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine was rolled out in Nigeria in March with health workers from the National Hospital Abuja, receiving the first dose, in the country.

There has been no documented evidence of adverse effect from taking the vaccine as Covid-19 continues to decrease in the country
