American Government says plans is in place to supply drones to Nigeria in August this year to be used for security purpose.

The American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard stated this in Sokoto at a round table discussion with newsmen in the state.

She said the drones would help Nigeria end activities of bandits, kidnapping in the country.

The American ambassador said insecurity had short changed the development of the country in many areas of human endeavour.

Mary Beth Leonard said America was concerned about the security situation of the country.

The ambassador who is going round the state in the country to inspect American programs said the US had expanded one hundred and twenty two million dollars in the health sector of the country from twenty fifteen to date.

She noted that American government was assisting Nigeria in various human endeavour.

The ambassador commended the Sokoto state government for it’s commitment in developing the agricultural sector especially the cotton value chain.
