Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has cautioned social media influencers against promoting fake news and making unguarded comments that are capable of causing tension in the society.

He stated this while addressing members of the coalition of social media groups in Jigawa state, who paid him a courtesy visit at the statehouse in Dutse.

According to him, social media is a platform that is capable of uniting and disintegrating a nation, hence the need for all users to be careful so that the best of it can be achieved.

Senior Special Assistant to Governor Badaru, Alhaji Auwalu Danladi Sankara

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Auwal Danladi Sankara who led the delegation to the Governor, said social media gladiators were at the government house to commend the governor for his numerous achievements since 2015.

He pointed out that most of the social media users in the state were youth, adding that the Badaru led administration had  carried youth along especially in its empowerment programs.

The Senior Special Assistant said youths have benefited from the present administration’s empowerment programmes which have impacted their lives positively.

Similarly, Chairman of the coalition, Ahmed Rufa’I Gumel commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for the numerous projects executed in the state  since inception in 2015.
