West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released results of 11,816 Private candidates out of the 12,075 that sat for the Certificate Examination in Nigeria.

 Head of WAEC Office in Nigeria Office, Mr. Olu I. Adenipekun announced release of the results at a press brief in Lagos.

Mr. Olu Adenipekun disclosed that the Council withheld results of 548 candidates in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.

He said the cases were being investigated, stressing that report of the investigations would be presented to the appropriate Committee of the Council for consideratio.

According to the WAEC Boss, 6,331 were male while 5,744 were female, representing 52% and 47.57% respectively.

 Presenting statistics of candidates’ performance, Mr. Adenipekun said a total of 3,892 (32.23%) candidates obtained credit and above in a minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
