A group of concern citizens under the aegis of Borno Emirates Concern Citizens Forum has urged the federal government to reintroduce the military Joint Taskforce Operations to contain the resurgence of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno and Yobe states.

Addressing newsmen at NUJ secretariat in Maiduguri, Chairman of the Forum Zanna Hassan Bogoma said this will help pull the needed personnel together from the armed forces and other security agencies to effectively prosecute the war on terrorism and other forms of criminality across the country.

The Chairman called for thorough investigation into the recent surge of attacks on security formations and the reorganisation of the security architecture.

The forum want the Presidency to immediately convene a national security meeting involving all critical stakeholders to address the lingering insecurity in the country.

Zanna Bogoma acknowledged the selfless service rendered by troops in the frontline and condole with families of gallant soldiers who lost their lives in line of duty and equally called on government to provide succor to their families.
