From Aliyu Lawal, Minna.

Federal Government has been advised to take immediate action to stem dangerous trend of armed banditry kidnapping cattle rustling and all forms of criminality in parts of the country.

A member of the National Assembly representing Niger East Senatorial Zone of Niger state Senator Mohd Sani Musa gave the advice in a statement which he personally signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna.

Senator Mohd Sani Musa wondered why despite his repeated calls on the Federal Government to address issue of insecurity bedeviling people of his constituency no serious efforts has been made to bring the situation to normal.

According to him insecurity situation in the zone especially in Rafi Shiroro and Munya local government councils have continued to get worse.

He said his constituents are being killed and maimed on daily basis while their properties are dispossessed by armed bandits and called for collective efforts by all and sundry to check the ugly trend.

Alh Mohd Sani Musa also lamented that Shiroro and Munya local government councils have no single policeman or soldier to provide security for villagers who have now fled to neighbouring local governments for safety.

He however advocated for a convocation of meeting of leaders from across the country to find lasting solution to the situation.
