A Civil Society Organization Savannah Center For Diplomacy Democracy and Development has launched a document for the promotion of sustainable Peace and Security in Kaduna State.

At the event, the State Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Mr. Samuel Aruwan emphasized the need for recourse to laws of the land by citizens in the quest to ensure lasting peace.

Mr. Samuel Aruwan said the major cause of violence in Kaduna State is because people tend to take laws into their hands when provoked instead of reporting to the appropriate authorities.

The Executive Vice chairman Kaduna Peace Commission Mrs Pricilla Ankut emphasized that the state was on the right track to attaining peace and cordial relationship in view of policies and programmes put in place.

In a remark, a Professor of Criminology and Gender study from Kaduna State University Hauwa’u Yusuf said lack of adequate information and sensitization affects policy implementation.

According to Coordinator of the Center, the event was organized for all stakeholders to review the policy document and recommend ways for effective implementation for lasting peace and harmonious coexistence.
