Division of Agriculture Colleges DAC, Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru Zaria has sponsored over 15 staff for foreign courses to enhance professionalism and expertise.

The Director of the Division, Prof. Musa Mahadi stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria Kaduna in Zaria.

Prof. Musa Mahadi, explained that the staff were undergoing their second and third degree programme in various fields of agriculture.

He said arrangement had been concluded to introduce a course of study on irrigation Agronomy in the division as part of plans to boost Agricultural research.

According to him, the course will be taught at Diploma level while another newly introduced course on Agric business is to be conducted at Higher National Diploma level.

Prof. Musa Mahadi emphasized that when the course were introduced, the Division would be the first in west African countries to establish such in colleges of Agriculture.

The Director who said the Division had collaborated with Federal and state Governments as well as other Agric partners in a bid to transform the sector for Economic and commercial activities, urged staff and students of the Colleges to discharge their responsibility to the best of their ability.

The courses are expected to commence next academic session as soon as approval from National Board for Technical Education is received.
