Governor Abdullahi Sule of nasarawa state says peace and unity remain the foundation for sustaining the investment and economic development.
He stated this at the state cultural carnival organized to mark the state’s 30th anniversary.
The Governor said nasarawa’s economic prospects in solid minerals, depend on the state’s peace and stability adding that out of the seven critical minerals resources in nigeria, all the seven are present in nasarawa state.
“We have the largest lithium processing plant in Africa here in nasarawa because investors see peace,” he said……..”
The governor said that the state had attracted investors who were mining and processing minerals locally, a shift he linked to peaceful coexistence.
Speaking on political tension that often precedes elections, he appealed for tolerance during the electioneering campaign.
“Elections are coming very soon; we cannot all be on the same page, but let us disagree with respect. power comes only from God Almighty. once there is crisis, no investor will show interest,” he warned………”
He commended President Bola Tinubu’s reforms on electricity generation, revenue and security, including the state police bill now before states.
He announced the state’s support for state police, saying that it would help nasarawa to secure itself and grow its economy.
The Governor said in seven years his administration has improved workers’ welfare, healthcare, education and vocational training, and urged citizens to continue the spirit of unity that has transformed lafia from a small town to a city in 30 years.
Governor Abdullahi Sule also thanked the traditional rulers, the emir of lafia, visitors from Ireland, the nigeria institute of public relations and the national tourism board for gracing the state cultural carnival.
Our Correspondent in lafia report that the cultural carnival procession which started from the city gate and terminated at lafia square brought together different ethnic groups and cultural troupes to display the state’s rich cultural heritage to the admiration of spectators.
