The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has appealed to aviation unions to suspend their ongoing industrial action and exercise restraint pending the return of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

In a statement by the Director NCAA, Captain Chris Najumo, the Authority says the Minister has been actively working to resolve the issues that led to the industrial action, urging all parties to embrace dialogue and cooperation.

The NCAA explained that the matter would have been addressed at a meeting convened by the Minister last week, but the meeting could not hold because airline operators failed to honour the invitation.

It assured travellers that flight safety remained uncompromised, stressing that it would continue to exercise its statutory safety oversight responsibilities despite the industrial action.

The Authority expressed confidence that the dispute would be resolved shortly and that normal flight operations would resume soon

NCAA however regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers and appreciates their patience and understanding.
