The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kaduna State Chapter, has commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Uba Sani, for appointing Hajiya Binta Saidu as a member of the Board of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), representing Zone II.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairperson, Comrade Sahura Maidoki, and the Secretary, Comrade Hadiza Bello Abdullahi, the association described the appointment as well deserved, noting that Hajiya Binta Saidu is a dedicated and experienced media professional who will add value to the board.
The statement expressed confidence that her vast experience in journalism and broadcasting would contribute significantly to the growth of KSMC, while also promoting the welfare and professional development of its staff.
NAWOJ also appreciated Governor Uba Sani for the appointment of other members of the board, including Yakubu El Saad Lere as Chairman, Zubairu Balarabe Saminu as a member representing Zone I, and Habila Abel Adamu as a member representing Zone III.
According to the association, Hajiya Binta Saidu has had a distinguished career in the media industry, having served as General Manager of RayPower FM in Kaduna, Katsina and Kano States.
She also previously worked with the Kaduna State Media Corporation.
The statement added that she served as the RayPower Government House Correspondent during the administrations of former Vice President Namadi Sambo when he was Governor of Kaduna State, the late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, and former Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.
NAWOJ described Hajiya Binta Saidu as a seasoned journalist, broadcaster and administrator whose wealth of experience would strengthen the operations of the Kaduna State Media Corporation.
