Jigawa State Executive Council has Approved Report on Proposed Polling Unit Development Fund Initiative (Kudin Akwati).
The State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Nura Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement to newsmen in Dutse.
According to him, the Council has approved the report of the committee on kudin akwati, as well as transmitting same to the State House of Assembly for legislative action on the amendment to the principal law (Jigawa State Community Development Law of 2018).
He said, this initiative aligns with present administration’s agenda on development, humanity, and social inclusion.
Dr Nura Ibrahim Kazaure further said, this noble drive empowers individuals and communities at the grassroots level with financial muscle to carry on basic interventions which include renovation or maintenance of public facilities such as boreholes, drainages, culverts, school chairs and desks among others.
Kazaure added that, the program would serve as a state vehicle of delivering dividend of democracy to the entire citizens of the state through fast-tracking community level development, bringing governance to grassroots level as well as eliminating administrative bottlenecks.
