Jigawa State Government has approved the release of over ₦2.6 billion for the conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations in the state.
The State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Dutse.
According to him, the approval is aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient airlifting and welfare of intending pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia.
He further explained that, the approved funds will be utilized for critical components of the Hajj operations.
Sagir said, this include air transportation, accommodation, feeding, medical services, orientation programmes, and other logistical arrangements necessary to guarantee a hitch-free pilgrimage for all participants from the
state.
He noted that, the council reiterated its commitment to supporting religious obligations and ensuring that the state pilgrims perform the Hajj in a dignified, safe, and well-coordinated manner in line with international best practices and guidelines issued by relevant Hajj authorities.
The commissioner said, the council assured intending pilgrims and the general public that all arrangements for the 2026 Hajj operations will be handled with transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
He added that, relevant agencies will work closely to ensure the success of the 2026 Hajj exercise and the welfare of the state prospective pilgrims.
