Fire has gutted the B.Y. Ventures soft drinks store at the Abdulkadir Kure Ultra Modern Market,Minna, Niger state destroying over Two Hundred Million Naira worth of goods.

An eye witnessed told Radio Nigeria in Minna that the fire started at about 7.30am yesterday, though,the swift intervention of both Niger State Fire Service as well as Federal Fire Service brought the inferno under control.

Further investigation however revealed that the cause of the fire was attributed to the over hitting from a solar panel mounted on top roof of the shop.

The General Manager,B.Y Ventures,Faruq Mohammad explained that over Two Hundred Million Naira worth of goods was destroyed by the fire among whom he said include,(7,000) cartons of biscuits,and (12,000) packets of soft drinks,part of which was destroyed by the fire”, and appealed to the Niger State Government to come to their aid.

Earlier, the Director General,Niger State Urban Development Board, Abdulrahman Mohammad Chata who expressed concern over the conjunction in the market, advised traders to adhere strictly to the laid down rules and regulations in the market.

In their separate remarks,the Controller Niger State Fire Service,Baba Alkali,and Controller Federal Fire Service,Assistant Controller,Alkali Mohammad, appealed to public to always call for the attention of the fire service whenever there is fire outbreak.
