Governor Dauda Lawal has reaffirmed that his administration’s rescue mission remains on course and is delivering tangible results across Zamfara State.
The governor made the assertion during an official visit to Shinkafi Local Government Area to inspect ongoing state government projects and launching an empowerment programme initiated by Bello Hassan Shinkafi, the member representing Shinkafi/Zurmi Federal Constituency.
During the inspection tour, Governor Lawal visited the Women and Children Welfare Clinic (WCWC) Primary Healthcare Centre in Shinkafi town, which is undergoing total renovation.
He also inspected the fully renovated General Hospital in Shinkafi as well as the ongoing construction of a new Referral Hospital in the town.

In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that the empowerment initiative targets 2,000 beneficiaries and includes the distribution of luxury vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, and other items aimed at improving livelihoods.
While at the Emir’s Palace, the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to the execution of impactful capital projects across all local government areas of the state.
“We are in Shinkafi today to inspect several critical projects of my administration and to launch the empowerment programme of Hon. Bello Hassan, the member representing Shinkafi/Zurmi Constituency,” the governor said.
“We have fully renovated and equipped the General Hospital in Shinkafi.The once-abandoned facility now has state-of-the-art equipment capable of addressing the emergency healthcare needs of the people”
“The ongoing Referral Hospital will be a game changer, not only for Shinkafi LGA but also for the entire Zamfara North Senatorial Zone. It will significantly reduce the burden on residents seeking specialized medical care,” he added.
Governor Lawal further disclosed that the state government has acquired the former Bafarawa Institute to accommodate the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Zamfara State University, noting that extensive work is ongoing to ensure its completion and effective utilization.
The governor commended Hon. Bello Hassan Shinkafi for the empowerment initiative and urged other political office holders and stakeholders to prioritise human capital development for sustainable growth.
