President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered Nigeria’s security agencies to hunt down and arrest those responsible for the recent attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State.
The directive, was addressed to the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The President also instructed the agencies to ensure the immediate rescue of all abducted victims.
The attack, which led to the killing of several villagers and the abduction of women and children, was reportedly carried out by terrorists believed to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states following a United States air strike on Christmas Eve.
President Tinubu strongly condemned the assault on the community and described the incident as a direct challenge to Nigeria’s security and unity.
He vowed that those responsible, including anyone who aided or enabled the attack, would be brought to justice.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must face the full consequences of their criminal actions,” the President said.
He also directed security agencies to intensify operations around vulnerable communities, particularly areas close to forests known to serve as hideouts for criminal groups.
The President expressed condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Niger State.
He urged Nigerians to remain united and avoid divisive rhetoric that could undermine national cohesion during the ongoing security challenges.
“These times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these threats in unison,” he said.
