A member of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State, Abdulmalik Zubairu Bungudu (APC–Zamfara), has donated 12 brand-new Toyota Camry vehicles valued at ₦360 million to Islamic scholars in the state.

The vehicles were presented to the beneficiaries on behalf of the lawmaker by Governor Dauda Lawal, who commended Zubairu for the gesture.

Governor Lawal described the gesture as a demonstration of genuine representation and commitment to community development.

Governor Lawal, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Religious Matters, Sheikh Bello Almufty, said the donation underscored the importance of respecting and supporting Islamic scholars, irrespective of political differences.

He noted that the gesture aligned with the state government’s policy of recognising scholars who consistently preach justice, fairness, peace, and stability across society.

In his remarks, Abdulmalik Zubairu, who represents the Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency, said the donation was in recognition of the vital roles played by Islamic clerics in propagating Islamic teachings and enlightening the public on peacebuilding and social harmony.

The lawmaker, represented by the Chairman of the Coordinating Committee, Bashar Bello-Auki, stressed that Islamic scholars deserve continuous support for their contributions to promoting peace and stability in the state.

Also speaking, the lawmaker’s spokesperson, Aminu Lawal, urged the beneficiaries to utilise the vehicles judiciously.

Beneficiaries of the donation included Sheikh Aliyu Na Allah Zurmi, Sheikh Abdullahi Yabo, Mallam Yusuf Dinawa, Sheikh Abubakar Fari, Dr. Atiku Balarabe Zawiyya and Sheikh Ibrahim Khalifa Balarabe

Others are Sheikh Mallam Usman Tambuwal, Sheikh Atiku Mai Suna (Kaura Namoda), Khalifa Bello Zauma, Mallam Abubakar Sodangi, Mallam Abdullahi Dalla-Dalla and Sayyada Rasika.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Lawmaker for the gesture.
