The national electricity grid suffered another collapse on Thursday, causing power outages across several parts of the country.

Electricity distribution companies confirmed the incident and said efforts to restore supply are ongoing.

In a statement on X, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company reported that the system disturbance occurred at about 2:02 p.m., disrupting power supply in its service areas.

The company added that it is working with relevant authorities to stabilize the grid and ensure full restoration

Eko Electricity Distribution Company also issued an update, stating that the grid has since been restored and that power is being gradually reconnected to its feeders.
