The Zamfara State Governor Dr Dauda Lawal has expressed deep sorrow over a landmine explosion planted by terrorists along the Mai Lamba–Mai Kogo road, between Dansadau and Magami communities.

The Governor made this known in a statement shared on his official Facebook page, describing the incident as heartbreaking and unfortunate.

He said the explosion claimed the lives of four persons, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Governor Dauda Lawal prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, asking Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant their families and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

He also prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the blast.

According to Lawal, he has directed that all victims receiving treatment be immediately taken to the hospital and given them urgent medical attention.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to ending insecurity, the Governor vowed that, by the grace of Allah, such heinous acts by bandits and terrorists would soon become a thing of the past in Zamfara State.

He also sympathized with the people of Dansadau and Magami, assuring them that, the government remains resolute in strengthening security measures to protect lives and property across the state.
