Jigawa State chapter of the Nigerian Legion raised over ₦40 million in donations during its 2025 Emblem Appeal Fund launch at the Government House in Dutse.

Speaking at the event, the State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, expressed profound appreciation for the sacrifices made by members of the Legion, including those who paid the supreme price by losing their lives in service to Nigeria.

He noted that their sacrifice would continue to be enshrined in history, and assured that the Jigawa State Government and the general public would continue to appreciate and support them for a better quality of life.

Namadi announced a donation of N10 million from the state government and a personal donation of N2 million, the State Deputy Governor Engineer Aminu Usman also donated N2 million, while the 27 local government councils collectively donated N13 million.

Other notable donations included those from members of the State Executive Council, the Head of Service, Special Advisers and Assistants to the Governor, heads of security agencies, and the Correspondents’ Chapel, which donated N100,000.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in Jigawa State, Malam Aliyu Mustapha, thanked the state government and the public for the love, compassion, and appreciation consistently shown to Legion members.

He stated that this goodwill serves as a moral booster to everyone in society, demonstrating that the sacrifices made for Nigeria’s unity and development would never go unnoticed.

“To my fellow legionnaires and veterans, I assure you that the Jigawa State Government stands firmly with us,” the Chairman said.

“I deeply appreciate this gesture and reaffirm the Nigerian Legion’s commitment to sustained advocacy and engagement for the welfare of all legionnaires across the state.”
