Dangote Petroleum Refinery has introduced a dedicated nationwide hotline to enable Nigerians report any MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved pump price of ₦739 per litre.

The refinery said the move is aimed at promoting transparency, protecting consumers, and ensuring compliance with its newly introduced nationwide PMS price.

According to the refinery, consumers can report violations through the hotline 0800 123 5264, which is now active across the country and covers over 2,000 MRS filling stations.

Dangote Refinery recently commenced nationwide sales of PMS at ₦739 per litre as part of efforts to stabilise fuel prices and ease the financial burden on Nigerians, especially during the festive season.

In a statement, the refinery urged Nigerians to avoid buying fuel at inflated prices when locally refined PMS is available at the approved rate.

It encouraged consumers to promptly report any station selling above the approved price, stressing that collective vigilance would ensure the price reduction benefits reach all Nigerians.

The refinery reaffirmed its capacity to sustain supply, noting that it produces up to 50 million litres of PMS daily to meet national demand.

Dangote Refinery also warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity or manipulate fuel supply in response to the price reduction.

It called on regulatory authorities to remain alert and take firm action against any practices that undermine fair pricing and national interest.

The refinery noted that local refining at scale is reducing Nigeria’s dependence on fuel imports, conserving foreign exchange, stabilising the naira, and strengthening energy security.

Consumers were again advised to resist purchasing PMS above the approved price and to take advantage of the availability of affordable, locally refined fuel.
