Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has signed a memorandum of understanding with Governor of Bengo in Angola province on agriculture, education, mining and other sectors in the state.
Speaking shortly while signing the bilateral agreement, the governor, said that the MoU is going to be impactful for the people when the state will begin implementation on an agreement they have signed with angola government.
Governor Abdullahi Sule explained that the state had identified the areas of interest when the realized the commonalities they have between the nasarawa state and angola government.
According to him,” I sincerely appreciate the technical teams that the have worked very hard during this period. Indeed, we identified the various areas of interest when we realized the commonalities we have between the state of Bengo, the region of Bengo, and the Nasarawa State.
” As Her Excellency has mentioned, the state of Bengo was actually completely consumed early on because of the presence of luanda being the national capital. The same issue we have with Nasarawa State because of our proximity to the FCT.
“Because of the areas of our comparative advantages, areas of mining, agriculture, oil and gas, education and health, then we decided to enter into one of these areas for this cooperation,” he said.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, also explained that the Nasarawa State has realized a lot of areas where Bengo has advantages over Nasarawa State in the area of agriculture.
He further added that they have also identified areas where Nasarawa State has more advantages than Bengo in the same area of agriculture.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, added that, one of the most exciting story was to know the main building that is going to be the one-top shop for new investors that are coming from Angola into Nasarawa State.
Also speaking during the signing the of the memorandum of understanding the governor of Bengo Province Dr.Maria Antonia, said that they were in Nasarawa State to sign an agreement with Nasarawa State on a key sectors.
Dr.Maria who described the signing of an agreement as a historic day for the two provinces because they have taking the necessary steps to achieve their goals.
The Bengo governor added that the agreement they have signed today would move the two states forward in the area of economics, environment and social development.
According to Bengo governor,” The signature of this agreement does not only stand for itself on the contrary, it reflects the brotherhood and solidarity of the peoples of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Angola.
“This agreement expresses our bilateral cooperation because we are two countries that are brothers and we move forward to achieve our goals,” she said.
In the same vein, Governor Abdullahi Sule along side Dr. Maria Antonia, inaugurated “One Stop Shop Investment House” housed the headquarters of Nasarawa State Investment Development Agency NASIDA and Multi-Door Court House in Lafia.
