Kaduna State Government has expressed renewed determination to make the fight against malnutrition a top priority.

Members of the State Committee on Food and Nutrition disclosed this at a meeting with the wife of the governor and the wives of the 23 local government chairmen in Kaduna State.

In a welcome address, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ahmed Muktar Morrovia, reaffirmed the ministry’s resolve to ensure proper planning aimed at achieving a society free of child malnutrition.

He described the meeting as timely and therefore called on participants to take lessons leant back to their communities.

Flagging off distribution of the nutrition supplement,Wife of the Governor, Hafsat Uba Sani pledged incentive for high performing local government on nutritional services.

Commissioner for health, Umma Ahmed charged Kaduna residents to support the State Government in overcoming malnutrition, stressing that sustainable development can be achieved when citizens are healthy.

State Nutrition Officer, Ramatu Musa Haruna represented by Quality Assurance Officer,Jibrin Isa called on the wives of Local Government Chairmen to support the task of assisting children to overcome malnutrition.

The event was attended by Senior Government officials, Health practitioners and donor agencies amongst many other stakeholders.
