National Chairman Board of Trustees, NURTW Comrade Najeef Usman Yasin

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State says the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) is the largest union in the country and is contributing immensely to national development and unity.

The governor made the statement while receiving the national leadership of the union, led by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Comrade Najeef Usman Yasin, on a courtesy visit to Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Idris commended the union for supporting government policies and programmes, adding that his administration is working closely with the NURTW to ensure a strong working relationship.

He disclosed that the state government has constructed a new central motor park, ready for commissioning, which will compete favourably with those in other states.

He further revealed that 50 vehicles have been procured for mass transit to ease transportation challenges, especially at the grassroots level.

He added that all 21 local government areas will procure their own buses to convey residents from their localities to the state capital and beyond.

According to the governor, his administration has constructed several road projects across the state, noting that safer roads are critical for drivers, commuters, and passengers.

He assured residents that more projects would be delivered within the next two years.

National Chairman Board of Trustees, NURTW Comrade Najeef Usman Yasin

Earlier, the National Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Comrade Najeef Usman Yasin, said Governor Nasir Idris has exceeded expectations, particularly in road infrastructure, the construction of a modern central motor park, and the unity of the NURTW in the state.

He also assured the union’s total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in delivering campaign promises such as the ongoing Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project, which he described as commendable for its inclusion of solar streetlights, water facilities, police stations, and other critical infrastructure.
