Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has earmarked more than ₦3 billion for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, disclosed this while defending the 2026 budget proposal before the State House of Assembly Committee on Religious Affairs.

He explained that, the board would procure an ambulance for the conveyance of patients to health centers during operations in Saudi Arabia.

Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, the amount will also take care of daily operation, accomodations for the board’s staff and ad-hoc staff such as medical team, Islamic clerics and media team that will assist in the conduct of hajj exercise.

The DG therefore called on intending pilgrims to always attend hajj orientation to acquire the practical knowledge that will enable them achieve standard hajj rites at the holy land.

In his remark, the Chairman Jigawa State House of Assembly Committee on Religious Affairs who is the member representing Garki Constituency, Alhaji Abdu Ilu Muku, reaffirmed the determination of the committee to visit the hajj camp and facilities.

Abdu Muku noted that, the committee will also visit to oversee all preparatory stages to ensure the successful conduct of 2026 hajj exercise.
