The Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board has planned to immunize over three million women and children against deadly diseases.
Executive Secretary of the board, Dr. Bello Yusuf Jamo, disclosed this while flagging off the second phase of the 2025 Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week and Sub-National Immunization in Kaduna.
Represented by the Director of Disease Prevention, Hamza Ibrahim Ikara, he said the targeted population would receive immunization and supplements for healthy living.
He further urged parents, guardians, and caregivers to present themselves and their children to benefit from free, safe, and effective drugs, including other health services.
Earlier in an address, the Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health Dr Aisha Abubakar Sadiq reaffirmed government’s determination towards enhancing health care services in the state.
While confirming the renovation of secondary and primary health centers to ensure conducive environment for service delivery, the Deputy Governor equally said a good number of health workers have been recruited to close man power gaps in the health sector.
In separate submissions, representative of UNICEF, Chinwe Ezefe and WHO Dr. Furera Zakari promised sustained effort to improve health indices in kaduna state.
The event was attended by traditional and religious leaders, polio survivors as well as youth and women groups amongst others.
