At least 82 student are to be awarded first class degree honours out of the 8,119 graduands of Kwara State University, Malete.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Shaykh -Luqman Jimoh stated this while speaking at a news conference on the 13th Convocation ceremony of the the University, held at the institution permanent site in Malete, Ilorin,
He said the out of the total number 1,986 will graduate with second class upper degree, 4,195 had second class lower degree, and 1,355 bags third class honour degrees.
According to him , 426 had masters degrees while 82 earned doctoral degrees during the period.
Professor Jimoh said there has been a significant academic growth at the university since last year.
He said the university embarked on the construction of new structures, as well as ensuring adequate maintenance of the existing ones.
The Vice chancellor explained that the university scholars are still attracting high impact research grants especially in the field of engineering and agriculture.

He said the state government is patronising the institutions vehicle conversion services to bring up grounded government vehicles into life.
Professor Jimoh noted that the university undergraduate entrepreneurship training is adopted to expose the students to new areas to increase their expertise on becoming job creators.
He said the university has sustained all its welfare packaged for staff , adding that it has continued its school fees rebate for up to four biological children of staff studying at the institution.
The Vice chancellor urged the state government to assist the institution with the construction of flyover on the major high way linking the university community to put an end to incessant accident at the junction of the Shao / Jebba road.
He thanked the residents of the community for ensuring safety and security of students in the area.
