Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Waidi Shaibu has charged newly commissioned officers to place Nigeria’s interest above self.
He gave the charge at the graduation ceremony of cadets of Executive Commission course 2/2025 held at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.
Addressing the newly commissioned officers, Lt General Waidi Shaibu charged them to remain focused, stressing that they are now stakeholders in the mandate of safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.
He emphasised the importance of sound leadership, planning and discipline, advising them to always maintain clarity of purpose.
The Army Chief urged the officers to embrace continuos professional development in line with his command philosophy.
While reminding the officers on the need to subject themselves to constituted authority, Lt General Shaibu reiterated Army’s commitment to democratic governance.
In his remarks, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry-NASI, Major General Frank Etim explained that the course content was specifically tailored towards equipping them with requisite military knowledge.
Additionally, they were also exposed to specialized training in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency warfare.
Major General Etim reminded the newly commissioned officers of Army’s primary objective to defend Nigeria’s integrity, advancing her interests and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
A total of two hundred and fifty officers passed out after undergoing three months training.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving officers.
