President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally launched the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund, calling on Nigerians to honor fallen heroes, support wounded soldiers, and appreciate serving military personnel safeguarding the nation.
Speaking at the emblem launch,at the state House President Tinubu paid tribute to Nigeria’s fallen heroes who gave their lives in defence of the nation and praised troops currently confronting terrorism, insurgency, banditry, oil theft, and other security threats across the country.
He noted that their courage remains a source of national pride.
The President emphasized national unity and urged Nigerians to reject divisive rhetoric while embracing respect, tolerance, and understanding.
Tinubu highlighted progress recorded under his administration, stating that tens of thousands of insurgents have surrendered, key terrorist leaders have been neutralized, and many captives freed.
He added that major investments in new platforms and advanced capabilities have strengthened the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of troops and veterans through upgraded allowances, improved barracks, healthcare reforms, and modernized pension verification systems.
