The Northern Peoples Union has re-iterated its commitment towards deepening peaceful co-existence, building stronger relationships and encouraging mutual respect between Northerners residing in Southern Nigeria and their host communities.

National President of the Union, Comrade Abu Muhammad stated this when he led a delegation of members of the Union to the Eze Kwesiri 1 of Rivers State, King Ateke Tom at his palace in Port Harcourt.

Comrade Abu Muhammad explained that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity and promote harmonious living between Northerners and people of the South-South region.

Responding, King Ateke Tom expressed delight over the visit and re-affirmed his commitment to promoting peace, unity and mutual understanding among all residents.

He assured the Union of his readiness to strengthening initiatives that promotes peaceful co-existence,noting that Rivers State thrives when people from different backgrounds live and work together in harmony.

Radio Nigeria reports that the Union honoured King Ateke Tom in recognition of his commitment to ensuring peaceful co-existence among Northerners and people of Rivers State.
