The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace and pursue knowledge, described both as the strongest pillars of societal development.
He made the call at the graduation ceremony of 432 Students at the Qur’anic memorization ceremony held at Kaura Namoda Local government area of Zamfara State.

While commending some students for their impressive debate on education and peaceful living, the Sultan described peace as the foundation of development, especially in the education sector.
Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar emphasized that, education promotes peace, noting that, many societal challenges such as killings, kidnapping, fraud, and injustice stem from ignorance.
According to him, Islam does not permit taking the law into one’s hands, and a truly knowledgeable person would refrain from such acts.
“Allah created us to worship Him, and true worship requires knowledge,” he said.
The Sultan explained that, peace and education are inseparable, described them as two friends that move together.
Alhaji Saad Abubakar who expressed gratitude to Allah for enabling him to attend the event, said it is a honour to celebrate with the students graduated and memorized the Qur’an.
He urged teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to continue praying for the school’s growth and progress, noting that supporting Qur’anic education brings both pride and spiritual fulfillment.
His Eminess the Sultan stressed that Qur’an is a cure for all forms of challenges such as illness, hunger, hardship, and every difficulty faced by a believer and encouraging people to hold firmly to its teachings.
In support of the school and its achievements, the Sultan pledged to sponsor the education of 20 students until they complete their studies.
He also donated ₦100,000 each to the students who memorized the Holy Qur’an, while participants in the debate received ₦50,000 each, among other gifts.
Earlier at the ceremony Deputy Governor of Zamfara, Mani Malam Mumini announced the donation of ten 10 Million naira to the school.
In a remark, the Emir of Kaura Namoda, Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed Asha commended all the critical Stakeholders for gracing the historic occasion.
The graduation ceremony which was held at Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda hall was graced by all the Emirs from the fourteen local government areas of the state, parents, community leaders and other members of the public.
