Kaduna State Government has reiterated its commitment to support the objectives of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by providing an enabling environment for the scheme to thrive.

Governor Uba Sani made the remark at the Swearing-in Ceremony of the twenty twenty-five batch ‘C’ orientation course held at the NYSC temporary orientation camp in Kaduna.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner Youth Development, Barr. Gloria Ibrahim said the scheme since its establishment has continued to foster unity, youth empowerment and community development in the country.

He noted that corps security and welfare remain his administration’s top priority therefore the call for corps members to embrace the service year with passion, courage and patriotism.

The Governor urge them to join hands with the government saying that “together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams. A nation united in diversity and rich in opportunities for all”.

Governor Uba Sani emphasized that corps members must maintain discipline and integrity throughout the orientation course as worthy ambassadors of their families and various institutions of learning.

In her welcome address, State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza said corps members will undergo various programmes such as lectures, leadership training, para-military drills, self-defense and language lessons.

She maintained that the vocational and entrepreneurship skills acquisition training will prepare them to be self-employed and self-reliant after the service year.

Mrs. Dadaza expressed her profound gratitude to the state government for the donation of a brand new JMC Hilux, on going renovation of camp facilities, provision of four additional bore holes, chairs, and installation of solar street lights to the scheme.

A total of two thousand five hundred and fifty-eight corps members were sworn in for the orientation exercise.
