Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has been selected to accompany President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the 20th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20), scheduled to hold in Johannesburg, South Africa, on November 22 and 23, 2025.

A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed that six Nigerian governors will be part of the President’s delegation to the high-level global gathering.

The Governors on the delegation include those of Osun, Plateau, Gombe, Katsina, Niger, Enugu, and Nasarawa states.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit, the statement added, represents the culmination of a year-long process involving ministerial meetings, working groups, and engagement groups.

It also explained that, the two-day summit will feature three key sessions, with discussions expected to cover critical global issues such as trade, development finance, the global debt burden, climate change, food systems, just transition strategies, critical minerals, decent work, and the role of artificial intelligence.
