Governor Dauda Lawal Approves Construction of Modern NUJ Secretariat in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed delight over the approval granted by Governor Dauda Lawal, for the construction of a brand-new NUJ Secretariat in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare, and the Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Ahmad Gada says the union described the development as the fulfillment of a promise made by the Governor before assuming office.

According to the statement, Governor Lawal had earlier assures the NUJ of his administration’s commitment to providing journalists in the state with a befitting and modern secretariat.

The Council noted that all arrangements for the commencement of the project have been finalized.

The NUJ Zamfara Council commends Governor Lawal for honoring his promise.

It says the entire NUJ family in Zamfara State expressed profound appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for the historic and commendable gesture, which, according to the union, will not only improve the working environment for journalists but also strengthen media professionalism and promote press freedom in the state.
