The Kano State Government KNSG has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing education by expressing readiness to partner with Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) in promoting academic excellence across the state.

The State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who also serves as the Commissioner for Higher Education, made this known while receiving a delegation from KHAIRUN led by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul Rashid Garba, in his office.

Gwarzo commended the university management for its proactive role in complementing government efforts, assuring that the state would carefully study the recommendations presented by the institution on the effective implementation of the recently declared State of Emergency on Education.

He further disclosed that the government would consider sponsoring scholarship students to study at KHAIRUN as part of a sustainable collaboration aimed at building human capital.

In his remarks, Professor Abdul Rashid Garba said the courtesy visit was to pay homage to the state leadership and strengthen partnership in the education sector.

He explained that KHAIRUN recently organized a follow-up seminar to evaluate the state government’s education reforms, which examined the system from early childhood to tertiary level.

The exercise, he said, produced key recommendations such as the need for a legal framework to guide policy implementation and the establishment of a committee comprising education practitioners to oversee execution at various levels.
