The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare in Kankara Local Government Area, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has urged communities within his domain to fully embrace the newly launched e-Birth Registration initiative introduced by the government.

He made the call in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara also appealed to all village and ward heads within Ketare District to ensure that every birth in their communities is duly registered in line with government directives, following the official launch of the e-Birth Registration exercise by the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.

He explained that the digital birth registration system will enable government to maintain accurate population records, which are vital for effective policy formulation and implementation of programmes designed to improve social welfare.

Kanwan Katsina noted that with credible data, government initiatives in key sectors such as education, health and social development would be better planned and executed.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara further stressed that the new electronic birth certificate will serve as an officially recognized document required for school enrollment and access to other government programmes and benefits.

He therefore advised parents to keep the certificates safe at all times.

Kanwan Katsina also instructed all village and ward heads to serve as a bridge between parents and registration officers to ensure every birth in their communities is properly captured for the success of the programme.

He reaffirmed his commitment and support to the effective implementation of the e-Birth Registration initiative across his domain.

It will be recalled that in 2018, the National Population Commission, through its officer Mr. Olaniya Fathai of the Kankara Local Government Office, issued a commendation letter to the Kanwan Katsina for his support and cooperation in birth registration activities in Ketare District.
