President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the name of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State to the Senate for confirmation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, said Dr Doro’s nomination demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to excellence, merit, and inclusivity in public service appointments. He added that the President expects the nominee to bring his vast experience to bear in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dr Doro’s nomination follows the election of Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Yilwatda previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro brings over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement across the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Dr Doro is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with extensive experience in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), having worked in urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional career, he has played an active role in youth mentorship and social impact programmes both in the diaspora and local communities
